Lady Raiders finish 4th; Durham ties for 3rd

FORT MYERS, Fla. - On another windy, rainy day in Florida, Middle Tennessee battled the elements and a tough golf course to finish fourth at the Georgia State Pelican Preserve Invitational. The Lady Raiders had a 54-hole total of 922 after carding a 305 in the final round.

South Florida won the event with a 907 while Campbell moved to second after an impressive 293 on Tuesday. Host Georgia State was third with a 912.

"We did not play our best but with the conditions I was pretty pleased," said Head Coach Rachael Short. "I think we are heading in the right direction and I like our attitude."

Once again, sophomore Taryn Durham led the Lady Raider charge. The Glasgow, Kentucky native tied for third overall with a 225 total. Durham came back strong on Tuesday with an even par 72 which tied for the third best round of the day.

Sophomore Jamey Dillard had her second straight 76 to finish in a tie for 14th with a 230 while freshman Leigh Wilkins had her best collegiate outing by coming in 22nd. Wilkins had a 236 total.

Senior Grace Holmes recorded a 78 on Tuesday to finish with a 237 and place 25th. Maggie McGill tied for 26th with a 238.

The Lady Raiders will take some time off before concluding their fall season on Oct. 31 - Nov. 1 at the Ross Resorts Invitational in Southern Pines, N.C.
