CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Middle Tennessee rebounded from a loss to No. 24 Brigham Young for a 4-2 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday afternoon at the HEB Invitational.
TAMCC took a 1-0 lead after Alex Pavlov defeated senior Alex McCann 6-4, 6-0.
Junior John Peers evened the score at 1 with his 7-6 (5), 6-4 win over Dmitry Novikov. Sophomore Richard Cowden defeated Duje Janjic 7-5, 6-1 but sophomore Matthew Langley fell 6-0, 2-6, 6-1 to Nathan Robinson as the scored stayed tied at 2.
Then freshman Shaun Waters and senior Victor Melo each took wins to give the Blue Raiders a 4-1 win in the match. Waters defeated Robert Raguz 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 while Melo won his match 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 over James Langford.
The Blue Raiders will play the winner of UL-Lafayette and South Alabama at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 6. Results will be posted on goblueraiders.com when they are available.
