DADE CITY, Fla. - The Middle Tennessee men's golf team got off to a second place start through one round of the USF Invitational in Dade City, Fla. The tournament is being played at the Lake Jovita Golf Club.
The Blue Raiders shot an even par 288 on the day, and sit just two shots behind North Florida for first place as a team.
Brad Simons paced the Blue Raiders on day one with a 1-under par 71 to tie for 11 overall while Hunter Green and Craig Smith are tied for 19th after registering even par 72s.
Jason Millard, in his first action of the spring, carded a 73 to stand in a tie for 33rd. Senior Kent Bulle, the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Month for February, fired a 76 and is tied for 74th.
The Blue Raiders and the rest of the 23-team field will continue play on Saturday with team times beginning at 7:30 a.m.
