LAKELAND, Fla. - Former Blue Raider Rawley Bishop played with the major league Detriot Tigers on Friday afternoon in a 17-7 win over the Houston Astros.
Invited to play with the major league team for spring training, Bishop entered the game at first base for Migel Cabrera. In two plate appearances he went 1-1 with a hit, RBI, scored a run and walked.
Former Blue Raiders Michael McKenry and Brett Carroll also received action with their respective major league teams on Friday.
McKenry, who is with the Colorado Rockies, entered the game as a pinch hitter for Matt Miller. The Rockies defeated the Angels 7-5.
Carroll, who played most of the 2009 season with the Florida Marlins, entered Friday's game as a pinch hitter for pitcher Hayden Penn and then moved to left field. Carroll ended the game 0 for 2 with a walk.
