Blue Raiders to face Denver in quarterfinals

Denver advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating 11 seed FIU 71-64 on Saturday night.
Middle Tennessee, seeded third and received a first round bye, defeated Denver 57-50 at Murphy Center. It was the only meeting between the two schools this season.
The last time these two schools met in the SBC Championships was in 2006-05 when the Blue Raiders fell 58-57 to Denver. It will be the third meeting in the conference tournament between the two schools. Middle Tennessee defeated Denver 83-59 in the first round of the tournament in 2002-03, head coach Kermit Davis' first season at the helm of the Blue Raiders.
Middle Tennessee will be looking for its 20th win of the season on Sunday when it faces Denver. The last time a Blue Raider team posted a 20-win season was 1990-91 when they ended the season 21-9. There have been eight 20-win seasons in school history.
