MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - ESPN has announced plans of coming to Murfreesboro Monday night and showcasing the Middle Tennessee women's basketball team during its annual NCAA Selection Show it was unveiled Saturday.
The network will bring a live satellite truck to the Embassy Suites, where the Blue Raiders will be in attendance with their fans and supporters to watch the NCAA Selection Show live on ESPN beginning at 6 p.m. Doors will open an hour earlier, at 5 p.m.
Middle Tennessee will learn of its opponent, seed and destination for the upcoming NCAA Tournament, which begins March 20 and 21. ESPN will capture the Blue Raiders' reaction to their tournament fate and transmit it back live to headquarters in Bristol, Conn., during the hour-long show.
The event, which attracted nearly 1,000 fans a year ago, at the Murfreesboro Embassy Suites is free and open to the public. Concession-style food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Following the Selection Show, the final Rick Insell LIVE! of the season will begin at 7 p.m. and feature Blue Raider head coach Rick Insell and radio voice Dick Palmer discussing the brackets and Middle Tennessee's upcoming games in the NCAA Tournament. The radio show will take place from the same banquet room as the Selection Show.
