MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee softball team will open home play Tuesday as they host the Evansville Purple Aces at Blue Raider Field at 1/3 p.m.

Last week the Blue Raider's traveled to Clearwater, Fla., to compete in the 2010 USF Under Armour Showcase. After having two Friday games rained out, Middle Tennessee split four games over the next two days, defeating Boston College (6-4) and Central Michigan (3-2) before falling to Radford (5-2) and Ball State (8-2).

Kaycee Popham was the leading Middle Tennessee starting hitter posting an average of .500 batting average in four games with one RBI. Jessi Couch led the team with five RBIs. Lindsey Vander Lugt was the leading pitcher for the Raiders throwing 17.2 innings of work en route to a 2-0 record with a 2.04 ERA and 12 strikeouts.

The first game of the doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. to be immediately followed by the second game at 3 p.m. Livestats and full results will be available on GoBlueRaiders.com.
