Burnette quits team

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee Head Coach Rick Stockstill announced today that redshirt freshman quarterback Brent Burnette has quit the team and will not return for the 2010 season. Burnette, who informed Stockstill of his decision on Friday afternoon, will transfer at the end of the semester.

Burnette, who redshirted in 2008, played in eight games last season and completed 13 of 25 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns. In the New Orleans Bowl victory over Southern Miss, Burnette came in and completed 2 of 3 passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.
