Women's golf improves at Rebel Intercollegiate
Clara Leathers is tied for 7th
April 3, 2010 · Athletic CommunicationsSenior Clara Leathers improved one spot to sit tied for seventh after two round of play at the Rebel Intercollegiate.
"We started better today," said Coach Chris Adams. "We were pretty steady out there and didn't make any big mistakes. Clara's having a strong tournament in a very strong field, but we still need to improve to stay in the hunt."
After shooting an even-par 72 in the opening round, Clara Leathers shot a two-over 74 to sit tied for seventh place in the 111-player field.
Ashley Haggard and Morgan Hale shot a four-over 78 and a two-over 74, respectively. Both are tied for 51st in the event. Olivia Love sit just one stroke behind the duo after carding a three-over 75.
Steph Gough shot a 77 and is tied for 84th.
Karisa Akin, competing in the event as an individual, rebounded from a tough first round to shoot a two-over 74 in the second.
The Blue Raiders will play in the final round of the Rebel Intercollegiate tomorrow. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
