Blue Raiders drop match to Cajuns 4-3
Cowden wins to force doubles play
April 3, 2010 · MT Athletic CommunicationsWith the match tied at 3, the duo of Alex McCann and Matthew Langley won their match 8-2 over Neil Schneider and Robert Voss. The Blue Raiders could not pull out on of the other two matches however as Richard Cowden and Shaun Waters fell 8-4 to Yanick Mandl and Carlin Murray while John Peers and Kyle Wishing fell 8-6 to Javier Pulgar and Tomasz Kryzkowski.
Waters began the match with his 5-4 win by retirement over Mandl.
ULL's Voss defeated Wishing 6-4, 6-2 to knot the score at 1. Then the Ragin' Cajuns took the lead after Schneider defeated McCann 7-5, 6-3.
Peers tied the match at 2 with his 7-6, 6-2 win over Murray at No. 1 singles.
ULL responded with a 6-2, 6-3 win by Krzyszkowski over Langley.
Cowden forced the doubles point as his 6-1, 7-6 win over Pulgar tied the match at 3.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action next weekend when they return to the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center playing host to Memphis and North Florida. Middle Tennessee will first face the Tigers on Friday, April 9 at noon. Then on Saturday, April 10 the Blue Raiders will play host to the Ospreys with that match also set for noon.
