Blue Raiders preparing for weekend action

The Blue Raiders will play host to Memphis and North Florida on Friday, April 9 at 2 p.m. and Saturday, April 10 at 1 p.m., respectively.
Junior John Peers, ranked 28th, has won six of his last seven matches and has posted a 15-3 dual match record this spring. Peers has defeated a number of ranked players and will look to guide the Blue Raiders to wins this weekend.
Sophomore Richard Cowden has been playing very well as of late after missing most of the last two seasons due to injury. Cowden won his singles match to help force a tiebreaker against Louisiana-Lafayette at the Sun Belt Shootout. Cowden is 4-3 in his last seven matches.
In doubles action, Peers along with teammate junior Kyle Wishing has been leading the way. The pair are 8-5 overall and are 7-3 in their last 10 matches which includes wins over No. 61 David Anderson and Daniel Stahl of No. 38 Notre Dame, No. 44 Penn State, and No. 23 Brigham Young just to name a few.
Admission to all home tennis matches at the Buck Boldin Tennis Center is free. Friday's match will begin at 2 p.m. while play Saturday is set for 1 p.m. with results posted on goblueraiders.com when they are available.
