Track to compete at Vanderbilt Invitational
Teams continue to prepare to Sun Belt Championships

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee track and field teams' will travel to Nashville, Tenn., to compete in the Vanderbilt Invitational this Saturday.
With the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships three weeks away, the teams' will use this meet as another opportunity to improve times and marks. Many of the athletes will be running their premier events that they will be competing in at the conference meet.
"This is a meet we really like," said head coach Dean Hayes. "Our athletes have usually competed very well here in past years."
The weather is expected to be pleasant so all athletes are expected to compete well.
The Blue Raiders will look to add to their list of athletes that have marks that will qualify them for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Greensboro, N.C. At the end of the conference meets, individual athletes ranked in the top 48 in the region and relays ranked in the top 24 will be qualified for the Preliminary Round. Currently, MT has 14 individual marks that meet the cutoff, but the list will change drastically in the coming weeks.
