Middle Tennessee Volleyball Falls in Three to Denver
October 12, 2001 · MT Media RelationsGihring, who registered 26 assists, was called on for her first career start and helped the Lady Pioneers get a little revenge for last year when MT knocked Denver (8-8, 3-3 Sun Belt) out of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. Middle Tennessee had a poor hitting night as the Lady Raiders posted a .145 attacking percentage in the match and had 27 errors to Denver's 12.
Middle Tennessee was also hampered by 17 service errors and only had 4 aces in the match. Denver only had four service errors.
Freshman Shakeithia Deckard was the only Lady Raider in double figure kills with 13 and Caia Morstad led the team in digs with 10. Setter Kelly Quinn and Goldie Bilyeu had 18 and 16 assists respectively.
Middle Tennessee will try and re-group and prepare for their match against New Mexico State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
