Softball falls to Auburn

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -Middle Tennessee's Corrie Abel extended her current hitting streak to 12 games as the Blue Raider softball team dropped a 8-0 decision to the Auburn Tigers in five innings. Middle Tennessee moves to 19-24 overall as Auburn advances to 27-21.
In the loss, the Blue Raiders tallied four hits and committed one error. Auburn's eight runs were scored on 11 hits.
Pitcher Janele Robinson dropped to 2-7 on the season. Robinson threw 4.1 innings, allowing seven earned runs off eight hits.
Auburn's first run came in the second inning, when Kelsey Cartwright scored on a Meagan Mitchell sacrifice bunt. The Tigers led 1-0 after two innings.
Kyndall White put the Tigers up 3-0 when she knocked a two run homer off Robinson in the third. The Tigers tacked on three more runs before Caty Jutson would come in to relieve Robinson in the fifth. Jutson gave up the eighth run of the game to end the contest later in the frame.
The Blue Raiders return to action Thursday at 5 p.m. as they will take on the WKU Hilltoppers in Bowling Green, Ky. Full results will be available on GoBlueRaiders.com.
