Blue Raiders cruise to 20-8 win

Junior Bryce Brentz posted the most hits on the day with four while juniors Justin Miller and Will Skinner each had three. Brentz ended the day 4 for 6 with three RBI and scored a run. Miller went 3 for 4 with a home run and scored three runs while Skinner went 3 for 3 with a double, five RBI and scored two runs.
The seniors were not upstaged on the day as they combined for six hits led by Zach Hudson and Blake McDade. Hudson went 2 for 5 with two doubles, three RBI and scored three runs while McDade went 2 for 2 with three RBI, three runs scored and three walks.
Senior Chad Edwards improved to 6-2 on the mound after allowing two runs on seven hits in six innings of work. Senior Tyler Hyde worked three innings in relief allowing six runs, three earned, on nine hits.
Middle Tennessee scored one run in the first but New Orleans answered in the top of the inning scoring two and taking a 2-1 lead.
The Blue Raiders scored three runs on three hits in the bottom of the inning taking a 4-2 lead. Then added another run in the third after a sacrifice fly by Skinner scored Miller from third, 5-2.
Middle Tennessee had back-to-back hits to load the bases in the fourth and then another hit added a run and kept the bases loaded. Skinner hit a bases clearing double making it 9-2 in favor of the Blue Raiders.
The Blue Raiders added five more runs on five hits in the sixth to extend their lead to 12, 14-2.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action on Sunday, May 16 at 1 p.m. as it goes for the sweep of its series with New Orleans.
