MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee Director of Athletics Chris Massaro announced today that men's tennis coach David McNamara has resigned his position effective immediately to pursue other opportunities.

"We wish David and his family well as he pursues other career opportunities," said Massaro.

McNamara, who played at Middle Tennessee from 1995 to 1998, took over as head coach in 2007.

"I have enjoyed my relationship with the players and everyone involved with the tennis program during my tenure as a student-athlete, assistant coach, and head coach," said McNamara. "At this time, I feel it is in my best interest to pursue other career opportunities."

The search for a new head men's tennis coach will begin immediately.
