Gbagbeke runner-up in NCAA long jump
Second straight runner-up finish at NCAA Outdoor Championships
June 12, 2010 · Christian LemonFor the second consecutive season, Middle Tennessee's Stanley Gbagbeke finished runner-up in the long jump competition at the NCAA Championships.
EUGENE, Ore. - For the second time since joining the Middle Tennessee track and field teams, Stanley Gbagbeke finished runner-up at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Gbagbeke ended the 2010 meet with a recorded mark of 26-1.25 (7.96m).
Gbagbeke, the 2009 NCAA runner-up in the event, becomes the eighth athlete in school history to earned multiple long jump All-American awards under head coach Dean Hayes.
Texas' Marquise Goodwin won the event with a mark of 26-9 (8.15m)
In the women's long jump, Nyeisha Wright took 14th for the Blue Raiders. The Colorado Springs, Colo., native jumped 19-5 (5.96m) in championship competition.
At the 2010 NCAA Championships, the Middle Tennessee women's nine team points placed them 30th overall, while the men's eight points slotted them 33rd.
