MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former Middle Tennessee golf standout Chas Narramore earned his first Peach State Professional Golf Tour triumph Tuesday by capturing the most recent tour event with a 19-under 125 at the Orchard Hills Golf Club in Newnan, Ga.
"It really feels good to win," Narramore said. "I haven't won any big tournaments in awhile. I played well all week and it all came together at the right time."
Narramore, who served as a student assistant coach for the Blue Raiders this past season, was a three-time All-Sun Belt selection during his playing career and a member of back-to-back NCAA Tournament participating teams in 2008 and 2009.
He has continued his play after finishing school at MT, and carded a 62-63125 (-19) in just his second tournament on the tour. The first round 62 matched the course record and vaulted him into the eight-stroke victory.
Narramore placed third in his inaugural tour event last week, posting a 69-67136 during the Healy Point Classic.
The tour allows pros to earn points towards Q-school, the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament, which includes four stages before a player garners a spot on the PGA Tour.
He will next compete Monday and Tuesday in the next stop of the Peach State Professional Golf Tour.
