Ashley Adams sets new career high with 20 kills

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - After a breakout performance in last week's Blue Raider Bash, Ashley Adams recorded 20 kills in a 3-1 (25-16, 22-25, 25-17, 25-18) win over UAB on Saturday at the Middle Tennessee Invitational.

Adams, a sophomore, posted a career high 20 kills, hitting at an outstanding .405 clip. Izabela Kozon tallied her sixth consecutive double-double with 12 digs and a match-high 18 kills while hitting .410. Maria Szivos also reached double figures in kills with 10. As a team the Blue Raiders outhit the Blazers an impressive .410 to .179. Morgan Peterson and Angela Peyton combined for 54 assists, with Peterson leading the way with a match-high 33.

Brynne Hederson led the team in digs with 18, and three Blue Raiders recorded four or more blocks for Middle Tennessee. As a team, MT had 12 total team blocks to UAB's four.

The Blue Raiders will close out play at the Middle Tennessee Invitational this evening at 5 PM against defending America East Conference champion Albany.
