Friday's match against WKU pits the Blue Raiders against the surprise team of the conference this season, as the first-year program stands 11-3 overall, 3-2 in the Sun Belt. The Lady Toppers dropped their first two conference matches of the campaign last weekend, losing 3-1 to North Texas and 5-0 to Denver. The defeat to North Texas ended a seven-game winning streak for WKU.
Middle Tennessee also lost to North Texas and Denver over the weekend, but bounced back with a 4-03 victory Wednesday over Appalachian State. The Blue Raiders are led by freshmen Danielle LaDuke and Laura Miguez. Miguez leads the conference in assists and LaDuke stands second in points and goals per game in the Sun Belt.
The Blue Raiders host Belmont Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Blue Raider Soccer Field on Senior Day. Four seniors will be honored prior to Sunday's contest: GK Jessica Busey, D Megan Holsten, MF Tiffany Moore and MF Rachael Sulkers. The four will have led the Blue Raiders to the most wins of any previous graduating class, posting a 35-35-1 record heading into Friday's match at Western Kentucky.
