MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee women's tennis team will return to action Friday through Sunday when it participates in the UL Invitational in Lafayette, La. It will be the second of four fall tournaments for the Blue Raiders.
Click here for the draws at the UL Invitational."We had a good opening to the season last week," first-year head coach Melissa Schaub said. "Overall I was pleased but there were a couple things we worked on in practice this week to get better for this weekend. This tournament will be a good regional test for us against some quality opponents."
The squad opened the fall last weekend by playing host to the MT Buck Bouldin Classic. The Blue Raiders won 11 of 12 singles matches and five of six doubles contests during the two-day event.
Four of the six team members are juniors and they are joined by a pair of sophomores, including transfer Lexi Brand.
Middle Tennessee will also compete this fall in the Steve Baras Fall Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn., Oct. 1-3, and the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Knoxville, Tenn., Oct. 14-18.
