Murfreesboro, Tenn - The Middle Tennessee women's tennis team is set to compete in the June Stewart Fall Invitational on the campus of Vanderbilt University Friday Oct. 19 through Sunday Oct. 21.

Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Penn State, Tennessee, Purdue, Clemson, UAB, Middle Tennessee and Marshall will be competing in the Vanderbilt tournament with five of the teams ranked in the ITA poll. Vanderbilt and Tennessee are ranked in the top ten at four and six respectively.

Sophomore Manon Kruse will try to continue her un-beaten streak maneuvering through the fall season with a 7-0 record. In her last outing, at the Furman Fall Classic September 28-30, Kruse knocked off three ranked opponents in singles play.

The three wins not only won her the Flight A Championship, but also set a school record for most consecutive wins over top-ranked opponents. Her last victory in the tournament was over Vanderbilt's Sarah Riske, who is pre-season ranked No. 17, and both will be looking for a re-match this weekend.

All of the Lady Raiders are entered into the tournament and Kruse and doubles partner Stacy Varnell, who is 7-0, will also try to stay undefeated. Kruse and Varnell knocked off South Carolina's 8th ranked team Katy Boyanovich and Jennifer Radman at the Furman Fall Classic. Other doubles partners for the Lady Raiders are Emily Vest and Tanja Buchheim and Verena Preiss and Carien Venter.
