"We finished a lot stronger today," said head coach Chris Adams. "Any improvement is great, but we're still not where we want to be."
We're still not where we want to be... we finished a lot stronger than yesterday, and any improvement is great, conditions were great.
This is the first year the Blue Raiders have competed in the eight team event, which features six teams ranked among the top 100 in 2009, NAIA National Runner-Up Oklahoma City and Redlands College, who finished third at the NJCAA National Championship.
The trio of Olivia Love, Morgan Hale and Karisa Akin led Middle Tennessee on Saturday, each carding a three-over 75. Love is still tied for 10th (out of 48) in the event to lead all Blue Raiders. Akin and Hale, who each earned All-Sun Belt honors in 2010, rebounded from their first round performances and currently sit tied for 22nd and 32nd, respectively.
Ashley Haggard improved from a first round 80 with a four-over 76 to move into a tie for 29th, and Stephanie Smith shot a nine-over 81, and sits in a tie for 37th.
The Blue Raiders will conclude play at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic tomorrow. A full recap will be available at GoBlueRaiders.com, and live scoring will be provided at www.golfstat.com.
