Women's golf in fourth at USF/Waterlefe Invitational

BRADENTON, Fla. - After two rounds of play on Monday, the Middle Tennessee women's golf team sits in fourth place in the 19-team USF/Waterlefe Invitational at Waterlefe Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.

"It was a long day today," said head coach Chris Adams. "We got started at the crack of dawn and finished at sundown, and I'm proud of the way the girls battled and hung tough out there. We know we can still do better, and we have a chance to move up tomorrow."

The Blue Raiders are led by Olivia Love and Stephanie Smith. The duo both sit in a tie for 16th (out of 103) at eight over par. Love opened up with a three-over 75 and a five-over 77. Smith carded a four-over 76 in each round.

Sitting just one stroke back and tied for 20th are Karisa Akin and Ashley Haggard. Akin shot an opening round four-over 76 and a second round five-over 77. Haggard recorded a five-over 77 and a four-over 76.

Steph Gough also made the trip with the Blue Raiders, and is currently tied for 96th after a 10-over 82 and 20-over 92.
