Women's golf in sixth at Dale McNamara Invitational

TULSA, Okla. - Ashley Haggard shot a second round even par 72, but the Middle Tennessee women's golf team carded a 26-over 309 drop to sixth in the 16-team Dale McNamara Invitational at the Patriot Golf Club in Tulsa, Okla.

"We had some trouble on the 18th hole today, but we're still in a good position," head coach Chris Adams said. "Haggard played great, and overall I think the team's confidence is still high. It's just unfortunate that we had to count a high score today, but hopefully we can make a move tomorrow."

The Blue Raiders are playing in one of the toughest tournament fields they've ever competed in under Adams, featuring 11 schools that are currently ranked among the Golfstat.com Top 100.

Haggard, who shot a three-under 69 in Monday's opening round, is currently tied for second in the 90-player field, and just one stroke off the lead.

Karisa Akin finished the second round with a four-over 76, and currently sits tied for 12th at five-over par.

Olivia Love improved on her opening round with a four over 76 as well, putting her at 10-over for the tournament and tied for 33rd.

Morgan Hale entered Tuesday's round at one-over, but carded a 14-over 86 to fall into a tie for 57th at 15-over. Stephanie Smith shot a 13-over 85 to sit in a tie for 67th at 19-over.
