This is the final segment, part seven of a series, on the freshmen members of the Middle Tennessee soccer team. GoBlueRaiders.com recently asked a series of questions to each of the seven players and the responses of Maddie Harper of Richardson, Texas, are featured.
What factors led to your decision of attending Middle Tennessee?
The soccer program and education.
What advice have you received from an upperclassman thus far that you have used the most during the season?
Keep working hard no matter what and be confident on the field.
What parts of your game have you been working on improving the most?
Positioning, possession in the back, getting back quicker to cover
Now that you have lived in Murfreesboro for over two months, what about this city do you enjoy the most?
The people being so friendly and making me feel right at home.
What contributions do you think you can make to help this team take the next step?
I'm very good in the air and good at one-on-ones.
What has been your favorite memory of your time at MT so far?
Our first trip to an away game.
How have you seen yourself grow as a person since you have been here?
Yes, I feel like I have become more responsible being on my own.
What are your career goals after graduation?
Plan to attend graduate school for veterinary medicine.
What are some of the things you enjoy doing outside of soccer?
Baking, reading, hanging with friends
Is there a story behind you wearing your jersey number?
It was given to me randomly but I used to be number 20 when I was little so it is ironic that number 20 again!
Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?
No, just stay focus and get myself into game mode.
What do you miss most about being away from home?
My family
