MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's cross country teams will conclude their 2010 regular season this Saturday in Chattanooga, Tenn., at the Moccasin Bend Race Course as the squads will run at the FrontRunner Invitational hosted by Chattanooga. The women's two mile race will begin at 2:30 p.m. to be followed by the men's contest at 3 p.m.

The FrontRunner Invitational has been a mainstay on Coach Dean Hayes' schedule for the past eight seasons as he likes the shorter race with a smaller field to help improve speed two weeks before the conference championships.

"The Sun Belt Championships is the most important meet," said Hayes. "We do not want to kill the runners late in the year with longer races, so use this meet as a shorter speed workout to get ready for the conference championships."

Men's senior Festus Chemaoi, the 2009 FrontRunner Invitational winner, has three individual victories this season including a win at the UTC PowerAde Invitational on the same course earlier this year. A Chemaoi victory on Saturday would be make the Eldoret, Kenya native the first Blue Raider athlete in program history to win four individual races in a single season.

One the women's side, Denanna Brasz will look to continue her impressive freshman campaign with her third top five finish in five races. The Vineland Station, Ontario native, has been the top Middle Tennessee finisher in all four races this season.

David Boiywo and Marla Bailey are not expected to run on Saturday because of injury.
