October 21, 2010 · MT Athletic CommunicationsBlue took the first game of the Blue-White Series 1-0 on Thursday afternoon at Reese Smith Jr. Field.
Blue scored its only run after a throwing error by Robert Lawrence to first allowing Jay Morris to score from second. Morris reached on a double to right field, which was the only extra base hit of the game. Morris ended the day 1 for 3.
Matthew Drake and Connor Tracy also recorded on hit each for Blue. Blue ended the game with three hits, and one stolen base.
Eric Gilley took the win on the mound after allowing just three hits in five innings of work with two strikeouts and one walk. Cody Tollison took the loss for White after allowing one run on two hits in two innings of work.
White had four players record one hit each and had two stolen bases.
The Blue-White Series will resume with game two on Friday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. at Reese Smith Jr. Field on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.
