MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee will give fans a preview of what to expect during the 2010-11 season when it plays host to Lincoln Memorial in an exhibition game on Thursday night.

The Blue Raiders are set to begin play at 7:30 p.m. or 30 minutes after the women's game, which is also against Lincoln Memorial, concludes.

Middle Tennessee returns eight players who were a part of winning the Sun Belt regular season title and reaching the postseason for the first time in 21 years. The Blue Raiders are looking to use those experiences to their advantage this season.

The Blue Raiders will be looking to replace all-time leading scorer Desmond "Boogie" Yates, Calvin O'Neil and Montarrio Haddock who were strong leaders on last year's team.

When the team takes the floor there will be a few familiar faces in seniors James Washington, Trevor Ottley and Rod Emanuel but it will have a new look in the form of height. Eight players on this year's squad are 6-4 or taller with five of those being at least 6-8.

Junior college transfers Trevor Charles and Kyle Hunt along with freshman Shawn Jones will add depth to the front court which only returns Ottley and sophomore JT Sulton from last season.

Freshman Kerry Hammonds along with Jimmy Oden and Jason Jones, who took redshirts last season due to the NCAA transfer rule, will all make their debuts as well against the Railsplitters.

Gates at Murphy Center open at 4 p.m. prior to the women's game which is set to tipoff at 5:30 p.m. and all tickets are $5.
