The Blue Raiders improved to 5-5 on the season with their second straight victory.

In doubles Middle Tennessee won all three matches, including a 9-7 triumph at No. 3.

Marlene Chemin and Claudia Szabo defeated Filippa Figueiredo and Erika Iriarte, 8-4, at No. 1, and Ann-Kristin Siljestrom and Kelly Adams won 8-3 over Lauren Schmidt and Carmen Abeaboeru at No. 2. Pooja Kommireddi and Elvira Yusupova prevailed 9-7 against Amanda Brahim and Lana Burton at No. 3.

In singles Middle Tennessee won five of the six singles matches, four in straight sets.

Chemin won 6-4, 3-6, 11-9, over Abeaboeru, at No. 1, and Szabo defeated Figueiredo, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 3.

The Islanders only point of the match came at No. 3, where Iriarte won 3-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8, over Yusupova at No. 3.

At No. 4 Siljestrom won 6-3, 6-1, over Burton, Adams defeated Brahim, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 5, and Kommireddi took care of Schmidt, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 6.

"I thought the girls played well today, especially playing outside for the first time in the wind and the sun," head coach Alison Ojeda said. "We learned a lot and really dug deep to find ways to win in a couple of matches."

Middle Tennessee plays at Houston on Wednesday at 2 p.m. before hosting Murray State on March 11 at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center at Noon.
