MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - After taking home both the Sun Belt Player of the Year and Sun Belt Tournament Most Outstanding Player awards last week, Izabela Kozon earned the American Volleyball Scouting Report Global Player of the Week award on Monday.

"Izabela has had a tremendous season so far," head coach Matt Peck said. "As we continue our season this weekend and at the NCAA Tournament, I'd be surprised if she didn't continue to rack up accolades."

The AVSR Global Player of the Week award recognizes international students currently playing for American universities. Kozon has garnered the honors four times in her career, including twice this season.

Over the weekend, Kozon was key in leading Middle Tennessee to their fourth Sun Belt Tournament championship in five years. In the opening match against South Alabama, Kozon posted a match high 17 kills at a .516 clip, and she would follow it up with 10 kills against North Texas on Friday. In Saturday's final against rival Western Kentucky, the Warsaw, Poland, native put up a match-high 18 kills and 12 digs.

Kozon is one of just nine players in conference history to earn both SBC Player of the Year and SBC Tournament Most Outstanding Player in the same season. Former Blue Raider Ashley Adams was the last to accomplish the feat, taking home both honors in 2007.

For her career, Kozon is one of two Blue Raiders to have recorded at least 1,500 kills and 1,000 digs. The senior is second in the MT record books with 1,681 kills and eighth with 1,108 digs.

Kozon and Middle Tennessee (28-5) will look to keep their 11-match win streak rolling this weekend, taking on Atlantic-10 foe Saint Louis on Saturday at Alumni Memorial Gym. On Sunday, the Blue Raiders, recipients of the Sun Belt's automatic bid, will learn of their NCAA Tournament fate in a special selection show broadcast on ESPNews, which will take place between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m.
