Murfreesboro, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee (7-14, 3-6 SBC) volleyball moves out of conference play Tuesday to host the University of Tennessee Lady Vols (10-8, 3-5 SEC) Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Murphy Center.
Lady Vol head coach Rob Patrick had just taken over the Tennessee program the last time these two teams met at the Tennessee Preview on August 30, 1997. The Lady Vols won 3-0, and hold an undefeated record of Middle Tennessee in 12 matches.
Middle Tennessee was last in action on Saturday when the Lady Raiders lost to visiting Sun Belt Conference opponent New Orleans 2-3. The Lady Vols fell to SEC foe South Carolina on Friday 1-3.
Key match-ups for the Lady Raiders and the Lady Vols will come from the outside hitter position. Middle Tennessee has freshman Shakeithia Deckard who has 308 kills while senior Ariana Wilson leads Tennessee with 286.
