KOMMIREDDI STAYS HOT: Freshman Pooja Kommireddi won all three of her singles matches over the weekend in Mobile, Ala., and has now won six in a row for the Blue Raiders. She also improved to 11-2 in dual matches this season and 21-5 overall in singles this year. The Hyderabad, India, native needs just four more wins to tie Niger Kaur (2000), Elina Durchman (1979) and Tanja Buchheim (2000) for sixth place on the single-season wins list at Middle Tennessee. Currently her 21-5 mark ties Yael Soresman (.808, 21-5, 1991) for the sixth-best single-season winning percentage in school history. Kommireddi says her formula for success has been an easy one - focus and continue to work on her overall game.

"I just want to give my best and move well in each match," Kommireddi said. "I've been working on being more consistent and working on my feet, moving well during the points, and my overall fitness. I focus during warm-ups on each match and take it from there."

She also said she's had to make one big adjustment this year.

"Getting used to being in the United States and settling down have been big adjustments, but that part's been OK. Really moving so far from home has been the biggest adjustment - getting used to a different culture and just being away from my parents."

UAB MATCH RESCHEDULED: Middle Tennessee's match at UAB, originally scheduled for February 19 but canceled because of weather, has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m. on the UAB campus. The Blue Raiders travel to Memphis the following day for a 10 a.m. match against the Tigers.

THIS WEEK: Middle Tennessee hosts 69th-ranked Louisville Saturday at 9 a.m., one of only two home matches remaining this season. The match is scheduled for the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center, but the frigid weather in the forecast will most likely move the match indoors to the Racquet Club of Murfreesboro. The Blue Raiders only other home match this season is April 15 against Marshall.
