Tennis preparing for match with Morehead State

Blue Raiders play at noon on Saturday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's men's tennis team will be looking to improve to 3-0 when it plays host to Morehead State on Saturday, Jan. 29.

The Blue Raiders will play host to MSU at Nashboro Village in Nashville, Tenn., their home courts when it is too cold to play outdoors. The match is set to begin at noon.

Newcomers have played key roles thus far this season with not one new player having lost a match. Freshman Elliot Barnwell, who joined the team in the fall, is currently 2-0 at the No. 4 position in dual match action. Barnwell also clinched the team's season opening win over Chattanooga with his 6-1, 7-6 win over Chris Smith.

Freshman Ben Davis, who arrived in Murfreesboro in early January, has also enjoyed success early in his collegiate career. Davis is currently, 2-0 at the No. 3 position in dual match play and has yet to play a three-set match.

Middle Tennessee will need strong play from each member of the team this weekend against Morehead State who is opening its season against the Blue Raiders.

The match is set to begin at noon on Saturday, Jan. 29. Fans are encouraged to attend all home matches at Nashboro Village. Live stats will also be available on goblueraiders.com.
