Blue-White Scrimmages Set for Oct. 30; Fan Jam Nov. 5

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - With practice in full swing, the Middle Tennessee basketball programs are ready to make their public debut for the 2001-02 season.

Both teams will be on display for the first time Tuesday, October 30 at 7 p.m. with the Blue and White Scrimmages in the Murphy Center. The Lady Raiders will play first while the Blue Raiders hit the floor second, with both teams playing two 15-minute halves.

The event is free and open to the public. Fans are invited to participate in the Blue Raider Fan Jam on Monday, November 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event will combine the annual Pick-A-Seat event with men's head coach Randy Wiel and women's head coach Stephany Smith speaking to the fans in attendance and introducing their teams.

The event concludes with an autograph session featuring all of the Blue Raider and Lady Raider coaches and players on the track level of the Murphy Center.

Free hot dogs and Coca-Cola products will be provided throughout Blue Raider Fan Jam.

Sponsors for the event include Bunny Bread, Hormel, the Daily News Journal, Coca-Cola Bottling, and Robert Orr-SYSCO.
