"We moved up a little bit today, but we have to go out and play our game tomorrow to continue to move up," head coach Chris Adams said. "We played better as a team today, but the course is a bit more difficult than yesterday's and the wind was gusting all day. We left a few putts out there, but I'm confident of moving up tomorrow when we go back and play at Cougar Point."
Love, who shot an even-par 72 on Sunday, now sits at five-over after recording a 77 on Monday.
A day after carding a 1-over 73, Morgan Hale is now tied for 24th at seven-over after shooting a six-over 78.
Karisa Akin improved from a first round 80 by shooting a three-over 75 on Tuesday, and the junior is tied for 52nd in the field at 11-over.
"Karisa made a pretty good move today," Adams said. "She's one of the best we have at managing a course and the wind, and it really paid off for us today."
Ashley Haggard rebounded from a first round 83 with a six-over 78, and Natalie Chrisopulos carded an 11-over 83 for the second straight day.
Middle Tennessee will conclude play at the Edwin Watts Kiawah Island Classic at Cougar Point Golf Course (Par 72, 6001 yards) on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com and an event recap will be posted at GoBlueRaiders.com.
