"Mississippi is just another quality opponent on our schedule," said head coach Melissa Schaub. "We are only going to get better by facing teams like this, so we cannot be discouraged. It is a long season and we still have most of it left."
Dachos provided Middle Tennessee (4-3) with its lone win, a 6-3, 6-4 triumph at the No. 6 singles position over Gabby Rangel. The contest was the last of the singles matches to finish, as the Rebels collected straight-set victories in the other five.
Dachos and classmate Carla Nava won their doubles meeting at No. 3 against Caroline Rohde-Moe and Laura van de Stroet, 8-7 (6). Like singles, unfortunately it ended after Mississippi (5-2) had claimed the other two matches to seal the doubles point.
The Blue Raiders will return to action when they open an eight-match homestand at 11 a.m. Saturday against Louisiana at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center on campus.
