Blue Raiders fall to Texas A&M CC 6-1

The two schools began the match with doubles where TAMCC won. To open play, junior Matthew Langley and freshman Elliot Barnwell fell 8-3 to James Langford and Aurelien Tave at the No. 2 position. Laurent Montoisy and Gergo Wedinger defeated sophomore Shaun Waters and freshman Ben Davis 8-6 at No. 1 to take the point.
TAMCC began singles play with Montoisy defeating Langley 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 to extend the team's lead to 2-0.
Then Weidinger pulled out a three set win, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, over senior Kyle Wishing at No. 6 singles to take the lead out to 3-0.
Barnwell gave Robert Raguz a battle at No. 4 forcing tiebreakers but fell in straight sets 7-6 (5) and 7-6 (6). R-Freshman Dimitri Pippos fell 2-6, 6-1, 6-1 to Matt Westmoreland at No. 5 singles.
Then Davis lost a super tiebreaker to Tave after winning the first set 6-4. Tave won the second set 6-1 and the tiebreaker 10-5.
Waters posted the only win for Middle Tennessee as he rounded out play with a three-set victory 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 over Langford.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action on Friday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. when they play host to Ball State at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center. Admission to all home tennis matches is free.
