Blue Raiders Win in Overtime

The Blue Raiders got on the board in the contest when Emily Carter netted her ninth goal of the season, heading in a corner kick from Laura Miguez in the 37th minute.
MT held the 1-0 at the half, but the homestanding Jaguars knotted the contest at one in the 53rd minute on a goal by leading scorer Cindy Rainville and an assist from Cassia Price.
Neither team could muster a goal in regulation until LaDuke broke free with a ball past two defenders, dribbled and shot to the far post for the game-winner.
MT goalie Emily Shrum made seven saves in the match, picking up her 10th win of the season, as the Blue Raiders tied a school record for most wins in a season. The 1998 and 1999 squads also won 10 games each.
The Blue Raiders play at Louisiana-Lafayette Sunday at 1 p.m. to conclude the regular season. The Sun Belt Conference Tournament begins October 31 in Miami, Fla., hosted by Florida International.
