Blue Raiders fall to DePaul
Playing host to Sun Belt Shootout this weekend

DePaul won the doubles point taking two of the three doubles matches to begin play. Senior Kyle Wishing and freshman Elliot Barnwell opened play with their 8-3 win over George Chanturia and Matija Palinic at No. 2 doubles.
The Blue Demons won No. 3 doubles 8-3 as Ben Hartman and Felip Dzanko defeated junior Matthew Langley and Dimitri Pippos. Drake took the point as Seven Kasper and Bartosz Jozwiak defeated sophomore Shuan Waters and freshman Ben Davis 8-3.
Hartman defeated Barnwell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles to give the Blue Demons a 2-0 lead in the match. Then Chanturia took the DePaul lead out to three with his 8-6, 6-4 win over Davis.
The Blue Demons took the match win as Kasper defeated Waters in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
Rounding out play for the Blue Raiders were Langley, Pippos and Wishing. Langley won his first set 6-3 but lost the next two by scores of 8-6, 6-4 as Palinic took the win. Pippos fell 6-4, 6-3 to Jozwiak and Wishing lost in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 to Dzanko.
The Blue Raiders will be back in action this weekend as they host the Sun Belt Shootout. Middle Tennessee will open the tournament with Memphis at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 2 at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.
