Drake solid in 11-4 loss to Austin Peay

Junior ends night 3 for 4

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Junior Matt Drake was the bright spot for Middle Tennessee on Wednesday night in an 11-4 loss to Austin Peay.

Drake ended the night 3 for 4 with a home run, two RBI and a walk leading the team in hits. The Cullman, Ala., led the hitters with sophomores Dain McNabb and Ryan Ford each recording two hits in the game.

As a team, Middle Tennessee had 11 hits but could not bring in runners leaving 14 on base in the game.

The Governors struck early scoring five in the first and were able to keep Middle Tennessee at arm's length the rest of the game. As a team, APSU notched 13 hits and while it received good situational hitting but still left 11 runners base.

Senior Jud Stoltz took the loss on the mound after allowing five runs on five hits in one-third of an inning of work. Middle Tennessee used five relievers in the game who allowed six runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts.

Middle Tennessee will be back in action Friday-Sunday, April 8-10 when it faces UALR in Little Rock, Ark. Dick Palmer will have the call on the Blue Raider network and live stats will be available through goblueraiders.com.
