MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee soccer coach Aston Rhoden has announced the signing of Kim Farrant to a scholarship agreement, bringing to eight the total number of signees in the 2006 Blue Raider signing class.

Farrant, a midfielder/forward from San Diego, Calif., will transfer to Middle Tennessee after playing one season at San Diego Mesa College and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

"Kim will be a great attacking addition to our program," Rhoden said. "She is a quick player with great pace and a tremendous work ethic and good leadership qualities. She has done well for San Diego Mesa and for the San Diego Surf Club team and we expect her to do the same things here."

Farrant, who prepped at Poway High School in Poway, Calif., was captain at San Diego Mesa and a first-team All-Conference selection. She helped lead the Olympians to their seventh consecutive postseason appearance in 2005, as well as a 15-4-2 overall record. San Diego Mesa was 12-1-1 in the Pacific Coast Conference.
