October 27, 2001 · MT Media Relations
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Middle Tennessee volleyball (7-16, 3-7 SBC) fell to eastern division Sun Belt Conference foe University of Arkansas-Little Rock (9-9, 6-5 SBC) 30-20, 21-30, 29-31, 26-30 Saturday at Trojan Field House.

The Lady Raiders opened the match with an impressive win in game one but could never re-visit that magic. In game three the team fought back from 26-29 to tie it at 29 all but watched the Lady Trojans score two straight points to take the game.

"The positives about this match was a strong start in game one," said Middle Tennessee head coach Lisa Kissee. "Other than weak serving in game two, we had a great attitude to battle throughout the match but we have got to get more aggressive."

Middle Tennessee was led by Shakeithia Deckard who had a double-double with 22 kills and 12 digs. Erin Hillstrom also recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs.

Sunday Middle Tennessee will end their road swing through Arkansas with a 2 p.m. match against Arkansas State in Jonesboro.
