Millard tied for 11th after first round
Raiders in ninth place
April 25, 2011 · Athletic CommunicationsJason Millard had four birdies Monday on his way to a 73 to stand tied for 11th at the SBC Championships.
"It was embarrassing today and completely my fault," said Head Coach Whit Turnbow. "I take full responsibility for the way my team played and I will get it corrected. There's still a lot of golf to be played."
Senior Jason Millard carded a 1-over par 73 to tie for 11th and had four birdies on the day.
Freshman Brett Patterson, playing in his first SBC Championship, had three birdies on his round of 74 to tie for 18th, while fellow freshman Paul Sansom turned in a 75 and is tied for 24th.
Freshman Jordan Jennings, playing for the first time since the fall portion of the schedule, had an 81 and is in 49th place. Junior Hunter Green registered a 10-over par 82 and is in 50th.
The second round will get underway Tuesday at 8:30 AM with groups going off on No. 1 and No. 10 due to a threat of inclement weather.
