Des Moines, Iowa - Middle Tennessee field athlete Kortney Thurman ended her collegiate career on Wednesday as she leapt at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Thurman recorded a final mark of 18-9 (5.71m) on her second jump of the competition. She finished in 24th place.
Tori Bowie of Southern Miss won the event, leaping 21-9 (6.64m) in the victory.
"Kortney's senior season has been the best year of her career," said head coach Dean Hayes. "She has competed strong and with great confidence all season."
Thurman's top career mark of 20-11.25 (6.38m), jumped on April 9 at the TSU Boston-Moon Classic, ranks as third best in program history.
