McKenry makes debut with Pittsburgh Pirates
Former Blue Raider catcher called up immediately following trade from Boston
Athletic Communications

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Former Blue Raider catcher Michael McKenry was traded from the Boston Red Sox to the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 12 and was immediately called up for Monday's contest against the New York Mets. McKenry, a 2006 All-American at Middle Tennessee, got the start behind the plate and batted seventh in the lineup.

McKenry recorded his first major league caught stealing in the contest. The Mets had runners at first and second with one out in the fifth when the Knoxville, Tenn., native threw down to second, instigating a run-down against Daniel Murphy for the second out of the inning to help the Pirates preserve a 1-0 lead.
