The win clinched the Sun Belt Eastern Division title for the Lady Toppers, and Western Kentucky (19-5, 11-1 SBC) will enter the Sun Belt Tournament on November 14 as the top seed from the east. Middle Tennessee is still in fourth place in the east, because the Lady Raiders swept Arkansas State who is in fifth.
A highlight for the Lady Raiders was the assist by junior setter Kelly Quinn, which gives her 2,000 career assists and entrance into the 2,000 Assist Club. Quinn was stuck on 1,999 for almost two weeks, as the team has switched to a five-one and sophomore Goldie Bilyeu has been the primary setter so Quinn could focus on defense.
Middle Tennessee will travel to Denton, Texas on Friday to take on North Texas at 7 p.m. The team then heads to Missouri to play in the Southwest Missouri State Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
