MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee will have at least its first eight games of the 2011 season televised including four national broadcasts as announced by the Sun Belt Conference on Monday.
The Blue Raiders will open the 2011 campaign on the Big Ten Network with a road contest at Purdue Sept. 3, and then will ACC foe Georgia Tech on ESPN3 Sept. 10 in the home opener. Middle Tennessee will also play nationally televised games at home against Memphis (ESPN3) and WKU (ESPNU).
Over the past five years, the Blue Raiders have played on national television a conference-best 14 times and that total will climb to at least 18 in 2011.
Middle Tennessee will open its Sun Belt season on the road against Troy and that game will be shown regionally on the Sun Belt Network Sept. 24. The Blue Raiders will also appear on the SBN against FAU on Oct. 22 and at home against ULL on Oct. 29. Middle Tennessee's game at Tennessee on Nov. 5 will also be televised but the network will be announced at a later date. Locally, the Sun Belt Network games will be shown on Comcast Channel 27.
The Blue Raiders could also be picked for Sun Belt Network games during the league's Wildcard Weeks Nov. 12, Nov. 19, Nov. 26, and Dec. 3. During these weeks, the SBC will be able to show the most compelling games throughout the conference.
