The annual Blue-White scrimmage is a time for head coach Randy Wiel to make some observations about his team as time ticks down toward the tip off of the season. On Tuesday night, Wiel saw lots of positive things coming from his team.

The Blue team prevailed in the contest 63-58, but there were several individual performances that have the prospects of a much-improved MT squad rising by the day.

The winners were led by Lee Nosse's 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting in the game. The redshirt senior from Euclid, Ohio, also pulled down six rebounds in the game. For the White squad, senior Lee Nosse pumped in 14 points. Both big men battled injuries a year ago, with Nosse's season ending four games into the year and Tenngren undergoing three surgeries on his ankles at the conclusion of the season.

Wiel said, "Lee and Iiro looked healthy tonight. It is a big key for us for them to stay healthy this year because of their size."

Several new players made a big impression in their Murphy Center debuts. Junior William Pippen netted 12 points and freshman Charles Anderson nearly had a double-double with 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Junior point guard Eric Parham reeled off 13 points. Each man was a member of the Blue team for the evening.

The White team saw a 12-point night from sophomore Steven Jackson, nine from Dee Wilkes, and eight points from Bryant Mitchell.

"Anderson rebounded well and Pippen looked like he had been playing with us for awhile," Wiel said. There are several parts for us that are interchangeable and we're trying to figure out what our best combinations are going to be. We've got to find out which combinations are the best for us."
