Blue Raiders en route to Canada
Men's basketball will play four games in Calgary
August 15, 2011 · Athletic CommunicationsThe Blue Raiders wrapped up their 10th practice session on Sunday afternoon in preparation for the tournament and head coach Kermit Davis is excited for the opportunity to see the team in live game situations while in Calgary.
“I think for the newcomers, returning players and redshirt guys, this trip couldn’t have come at a better time,” Davis said. “We’ve made a lot of progress and still have work to do, but I think it’s going to be really beneficial in October and November. We’re going to try a lot of different things from a personnel standpoint that will help us evaluate our team. We’re looking forward to it and I think it’s going to be a great experience for all of us.”
MT is slated for four games in Calgary, opening the tournament against the hosting Calgary Dinos on Tuesday at 9 p.m. CT at Jack Simpson Gym. The Blue Raiders take on the Alberta Golden Bears Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. CT and conclude the trip with a pair of games on Thursday against Mount Royal University (1 p.m. CT) and Alberta (9 p.m. CT).
